Making History With the Iconic Mustang Mach-E

Electrification has taken the automotive world by storm, influencing new areas of the industry that previously weren’t thought to be a possibility. The impact of electrification becomes blatantly obvious when considering vehicles like the Ford Mustang Mach-E for sale. The Ford Mustang Mach-E represents a bold step forward in the world of electric vehicles. It’s not just another crossover; it’s a statement of style and performance with the kicker of sustainability.

The Mustang made its first appearance at the World’s Fair in 1964, captivating the public and beginning its journey to one of the most iconic cars ever. For over fifty years, the Mustang has been synonymous with power and performance, fueling passion for the brand. With the Mustang Mach-E, Ford is bringing this classic into the future while honoring the pony car’s history. The future of the sports car awaits anyone who has their eyes set on the incredible Mach-E.

The First Mustang Mach-E and Beyond

The Mustang Mach-E hasn’t been around for that long, unlike its gas-powered counterpart. The Mach-E was introduced for the 2021 model year and was well-received from the start. As Ford’s first all-electric crossover, the Mach-E had some big tires to fill – which it did. Its initial introduction was accompanied by a plethora of awards, including the Car and Driver’s Editor’s Choice Award and the Electric Vehicle of the Year Award, which shows that whether gas-powered or electric, the Ford Mustang is a winner.

The 2021 model was offered in five trim options: the Select, Premium, California Route 1, GT, and the GT Performance Edition. These same trims have been carried over each year since the 2024 model year when a sixth option named the Rally was added. The powertrain options have remained relatively the same as well, with a slight change in the 2022 model year, which has remained consistent since. If you are considering a 2021 model, then you will have two battery options when browsing the inventory at Faith’s Ford – either a standard-range 75.7 kWh battery or an extended-range 98.8 kWh battery pack, both of which power an electric motor.

Power and Performance

The Mustang has always put an emphasis on power and performance, whether you are considering the gas-powered icon or the new and exciting electric-powered beast. For the 2022 model years and on, Ford still offers two battery options on the Mach-E. For anyone who wishes to embrace the performance of days gone by, Ford offers a standard-range 70.0-kWh battery. For those who want to embrace the efficiency aspect of going electric, an extended-range 91.0-kWh battery pack is available.

All model years are available in rear-wheel drive for better mileage or all-wheel drive for a bit more zip. A sort of “choose your own adventure” type of car, the Mach-E is designed for many lifestyles and driving habits. For instance, the Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance Editions boast impressive acceleration stats, sending the pony from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds. Thanks to all-wheel drive, these GT models are said to get up to 480 horses and a max of 634 lb-ft of torque.

Looking back on the first significant wave of electric vehicles, it is difficult to imagine a sports car of this caliber driven entirely by battery power. But, this instantaneous torque propelled by the genius of battery and motor equates to an adrenaline-pumping acceleration that may eventually leave traditional gas-powered ponies in the rearview mirror. Although, for now, it is simply a stellar runner-up to the original and an incredible first-place winner in the field of electric vehicles.

How Far Will You Go?

One of the burning questions on the mind of anyone who is considering an electric-powered green machine is the distance it can go before you run out of juice. The Ford Mustang Mach-E has a slight variation between model years, which is to be expected as things change and improve with new technologies and feedback. The 2021 model year is estimated to pull 211 to 305 miles based on the set-up. As previously mentioned, the Mustang can be equipped with a traditional or long-range battery pack, as well as all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. Just like with gas mileage, factors such as these will either add or subtract from your end number.

Later model years increased the range a bit, with a bottom of 226/224 miles and a top out of 312 electric miles. Although this isn’t a massive spike in capability, it is moving in the right direction and a precursor to what will come down the line. Plus, as charging options improve, these numbers could really jump. This brings us to the other question that often burns bright in someone’s mind when choosing to go electric: charging options.

The Mach-E can be charged in a variety of ways, including through your typical home outlet. Homes are generally equipped with a 120-volt outlet to power devices at home. This same outlet can be used to charge your Mach-E, new or older, adding up to 30 miles of range a night. If you use your vehicle for commuting a short distance or driving around town in general, then this is sufficient. However, if you plan to take a several-hour joyride every single day, you might need something a bit more powerful.

Should you have access to a 240-volt outlet, the same charge can charge your Mach-E up to 80 percent of its battery life overnight. This will definitely provide more options for how and when you use your Mustang. Then, of course, there is the ultimate at-home charging option, which is a dedicated charge station. Charge stations can be ordered and installed by a qualified professional, resulting in quicker charging.

A Ford charge station can replenish 32 mph, so you can quickly charge while on a siesta or recharge the whole battery overnight. The only difference for the 2024 model year is a few mile drop per hour when charging at your home charge station. For the busy and motivated individual on the go, Ford has installed over 88,000 charge stations throughout North America. The Blue Oval Charge Network provides easy and convenient access to power when on the road, so you can keep on rolling.

A Comfortable and Spacious Interior

The Mustang Mach-E is as sleek and stylish on the inside as it is on the outside. Features like an expansive touchscreen, an available moonroof, and the available B&O Sound System by Bang and Olufsen will make you feel like you are sitting in the lap of luxury. Beyond the technology and luxury options of the Mustang Mach-E, EV drivers also get to enjoy incredible spaciousness.

The open and modern interior prioritizes comfort and convenience, benefiting from the lack of an engine. Known as a “Frunk,” the Mustang enjoys extra storage space in the front, allowing more room for drivers and passengers. Such space allows for five passengers and an adaptive cargo area to fit your lifestyle. The Mustang Mach-E is the whole package and then some.

Making History From Generation to Generation

The Mach-E version of the Mustang has not been around long, but it has certainly made an impact. Combining the thrill and excitement of the original Mustang with the efficiency and eco-conscious vibes of today’s generation, the Mach-E is sure to be around for generations to come. There is a reason that the Mach-E began raking in the awards and accolades shortly after its reveal. Much like the first Mustang, the Mach-E is imbued with Ford’s greatness, and it shows.
