The Ford Super Duty lineup has continued to push the heavy-duty segment forward in a number of different ways, from elevating towing capacity to enabling access to breakthrough technology within a heavy-duty pickup. The latest entry in the long-running Super Duty three-quarter series continues the trend of adding exciting new features, new-generation technology, and all-new integration systems for the 2023 Ford F-250, adding a heightened level of value and quality enhancements for those looking for a dependable three-quarter pickup.

The latest model year entry of the F-250 comes with some exciting new features, including the all-new Ford Pro Upfit Integration System, which makes it easier for heavy-duty truckers to upfit and modify their F-250 for specific purposes. Enhanced towing and trailering capabilities, as well as enhanced payload, also make the 2023 F-250 more efficient compared to previous models, while the inclusion of 5G technology puts the truck in a category all its own when it comes to connectivity. All of these features are complimented with existing features that the F-250 is known for.

With all this great content packed into the 2023 Super Duty, you can customize and choose the F-250 that best suits you with the features that appeal to your driving and work requirements. The model year is available in six trims, including the base-level XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and the top-of-the-line Limited. You can also get each trim in a series of different colors, some of which have up to ten color variations for those who want their F-250 to have a certain visual flair.

Performance

For the 2023 F-250, Ford has overhauled the powertrains for the popular three-quarter-ton pickup. This includes adding an all-new power plant to the lineup for the model year and increasing the capabilities for each of the powertrains. This gives you more trailering possibilities, more towing potential, and more hauling than any previous F-250.

A Variety of Powertrain Options

The 2023 Ford F-250 now has four powertrain options in rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, which gives you an additional option from the outgoing model year. You now have a base 6.8-liter V8, a 7.3-liter V8, a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbocharged diesel V8, and a 6.7-liter High-Output Power Stroke Turbo-Diesel V8. Each option gives you something finely tuned to utilize depending on the workload and the utility required from the F-250.

The base 6.8-liter V8 delivers 405 hp at 445 lb-ft of torque, enabling a hefty payload and high trailering capacity. The 7.3-liter V8 delivers up to 430 hp at 485 lb-ft of torque, making it more capable and powerful than any previous power plant. The 6.7-liter Power Stroke Turbo-Diesel affords you up to 475 hp at 1,050 lb-ft of torque, with some of the best trailering capacity in its segment. Finally, the 6.7-liter High-Output Power Stroke Turbo-Diesel delivers 500 hp and an absolutely massive 1,200 lb-ft of torque for the maximum trailering capacity possible for the F-250.

The TorqShift 10-Speed Automatic Transmission

Each of the powertrain selections is also paired with a TorqShift 10-speed automatic transmission, and each has also been tuned for the model year to improve its performance. This includes the 7.3-liter V8 receiving an enhanced air intake and better tuning to improve its powerband, while the 6.7-liter Power Stroke has been upgraded to go much longer without requiring an oil change. And finally, the high-output Power Stroke V8 received an improved turbocharger, upgraded exhaust manifolds, and improved tuning to achieve its all-new class-defining trailering capabilities.

Capabilities

The 2023 Ford F-250 is more capable than any previous model year, with its ability to now utilize the new powertrain capabilities to achieve all-new trailering ratings. This includes the ability to now trailer up to 23,000 lbs of cargo when properly equipped. That enables you access to 200 lbs of additional towing capacity over the outgoing model year. The payload rating has also increased for the 2023 F-250, with properly equipped trucks now capable of hauling up to 4,302 lbs of cargo in the bed box.

Cab and Bed Configurations

The F-250 is also available in three different cab configurations, along with two different bed configurations. This includes the Regular Cab in a two-door format, the SuperCab with its two and two-half-doors, and the Crew Cab that offers four doors. You can also get the bed configured in either a standard 6.75-ft bed that affords you up to 65.4 cu.ft. of cargo volume or a long 8-ft bed that gives you up to 78.5 cu.ft. of cargo volume to work with.

The New Ford Pro Upfit Integration System

Additionally, the 2023 F-250 now features the all-new Ford Pro Upfit Integration System, designed to allow truck owners to upfit and customize their F-250 as they see fit. The benefit of the new upfitting system is that it provides ease of access for upgrading and applying electrical and physical upfitting alterations to Ford’s Super Duty. This includes electrical systems, signals, displays, and more, all of which can be integrated into the Upfit Integration System. Now you can modify and customize your upfitting settings as you see fit from a simple software suite, which can control everything from lights and alerts to safety measures and locks.

Pro Power Onboard

The Pro Power Onboard also adds a lot of utility to the F-250, enabling truck drivers to make use of the onboard power supply provided by the three-quarter-ton pickup. This includes 2.0 kilowatts of output that can be utilized through the F-250’s rear bed, perfect for powering work site tools and equipment, floodlights, and even portable equipment like a mini-fridge or cooking equipment. This gives the F-250 a lot of utility as a work truck and as a recreational vehicle, perfect for when you go camping or need power for devices or equipment while on the road.

Convenience

Having a complete array of utility and functionality helps make a three-quarter-ton pickup like the 2023 F-250 well worth the investment, but there is also the need for the truck to be equally convenient and comfortable for those who will be using it to make long hauls or spend long hours on the open road. Comfort and convenience become invaluable assets for a pickup in those scenarios, and Ford didn’t shortchange the F-250 when it comes to these qualities. In fact, you have a lot of comfort, convenience, and tech to utilize in this rugged workhorse.

An Array of Useful Trailering Tech

For those needing more convenient technology for work and utility, there are features like the onboard scales with the smart hitch technology that you can access through the touchscreen or the FordPass smartphone app. The F-250 also features the segment-defining Tailgate Down Camera and Tailgate Down Reverse Sensing System so that you can better see where the truck aligns when attempting to hitch cargo to the truck when the tailgate is down. An improved 360-degree trailer camera also gives you a bird’s eye view of the truck, which is perfect for both parking and trailering. This also ties into the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, which can automatically align the truck with the trailer, and the trailer navigation system so that you can find the perfect routes that accommodate the gross vehicle weight when trailering.

Connectivity

Various trailer security and safety assist features are also standard implementations for the model year lineup, while next-generation tech features like the 5G Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity enables up to ten devices to be connected through the F-250. This enables super-fast online access, allowing you to do more faster while on the road. And with up to 12 inches of HD touchscreen real estate with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, you can easily access your media and content through the F-250 or use the wireless charging pad to keep your devices charged.

Safety and Audio Features

Every F-250 also comes with the standard Ford Co-Pilot360 technology suite, packed with helpful and innovative safety and driver assistance tools to give you maximum confidence while on the road. This includes the Blind Spot Information System with Trailer Coverage and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking. Other helpful enhancements include an available Head-Up Display, a 12-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, and access to media controls and systems like SiriusXM Satellite Radio with 360L and the availability of a Bang & Olufsen 18-speaker surround sound system, which gives the F-250 plenty of functionality, convenience, and comfort to pair up well with its workhorse functionality.
